Kimono Bridal Showcase

  • JAPAN HOUSE Salon | Level 5 (map)

In a traditional Japanese wedding, every garment, accessory, and gesture carries deep meaning, reflecting family bonds, cultural values, and centuries of refined craftsmanship. This February, audiences are invited to experience a rare live showcase of Japanese bridal attire, hosted by master dresser Jane Aiko Yamano, Principal of Yamano Beauty College and President of the International Beauty Association, with generous support from Nitto Tire U.S.A., Inc.

The afternoon begins with an enlightening conversation revealing the history and symbolism behind each bridal look. Guests are then taken behind the scenes to observe the meticulous preparation and collaboration that transform fabric, hair, and accessories into living art. The experience culminates in a breathtaking live transformation: the bride emerges first in the pristine white shiromuku, then the vibrant iro uchikake, followed by the elegant furisode, before a final reveal in a Western wedding gown.

Witness the grace, precision, and timeless beauty of a Japanese bride’s special day.
